The first way to generate more traffic is to post in forums. There are forums for just about every niche out there and many of them will show up on page one of the search engine for the key word term that you are targeting. So, do a search for related forums, post useful content (don't just spam those forums), and then in the signature box, post a link to your web site. Some of these web forums are "do follow", which means if you put your web site link their you will get a bax link, and getting a high number of backlinks is the key to high search engine rankings. Unfortunately, a lot of these forums are "no follow" which means that you will not get a backlink, but this is still a tactic that you want to use since many Internet users will go directly to forums when they have a question about something.

The second traffic generation tactic that we're going to talk about is advertising is classified ads. The one that everyone thinks of is Craigslist. Another very popular classified ad site is U.S. Free Ads, although this site is no follow, whereas Craigslist is do follow. But there are many other classified sites that you can use. Just do a little research. Although I must say Craigslist and U.S. Free Ads are the two best.

Another what great way to generate traffic is to make blog comments. This is similar to form posting. One issue with blog posting know is that sometimes the person who created the blog will deny your comment if you put your website in your blog post, because you're essentially their competition and they want people to buy from them instead of you. So this is a strategy that I wouldn't spend a tremendous amount of time on, but it is something that you want to try. And, who knows, maybe the person might not even notice that you've posted on their blog and you might be able to get a backlink from this as well as some traffic.

Another way to get traffic is to create something software. You can easily create software and submit it for free to sites like Download.com. Offer something for free on there and then tell the person who downloaded that product that they need to go to your web site in order to get more information. This is also a great way to build up a lot of backlinks because there are literally thousands of download sites you can submit to.

I saved my favorite traffic generation tactic for last, and that is article marketing. Article marketing is a fantastic a way to get traffic because a lot of these article directory sites have hundreds of thousands of visitors each day. Also, content on the sites tends to rank very highly in the search engines so the keyword phrase that you are trying to target could easily get to page one of the search engines relatively quickly.
